El Escorial has lots of amazing sections
The royal residence of Kings of Spain having historical importance is El Escorial. It is worth exploring in many aspects. It has great architecture and within that there are many sections that amuse visitors to the Palace. One can imagine the glory of Spanish Monarchy since last five centuries by visiting the Escorial.
The entrance of Escorial has Western Facade that makes it inspiring for people entering it. There are three doors at the entrance. Each of these doors takes the visitors to different places inside the palace. The door in the center goes directly to the courtyard. The door on one side goes to the school while the door on the other side reaches monastery. The courtyard of Escorial is worth visiting. There are statues of Kings present in the courtyard. Similarly the façade of basilica is at the back of courtyard. There is also courtyard of Evangelists in this part of Palace. There is sculpture of Evangelists in this courtyard and there is a wonderful pavilion designed by the architect in this courtyard. There are galleries having frescoes decorations alongside this courtyard that look awesome.
The central building of Escorial is important as it looks quite similar to the Gothic cathedrals. The only difference is that it doesn’t have a Latin Cross rather it has the structure style of a Greek cross which makes it look unique. One can see the roman influence in the style of architecture of Escorial in that way. There is a library of the Palace inside it which contains documents of Kings mostly. There is an art gallery in the Escorial and location costa brava which is having work of artists belonging to 15th and 16th centuries. Similarly there is an architectural museum in Escorial. It comprises of 11 rooms and it mostly contains tools, materials and documents that are related with the construction of edifice.
An important part in Escorial is the Palace of King Philip II. There are many decorated rooms in the residence of old king. The Pantheon of Kings is another important section that gives the display of 26 sepulchers made from Marble. One can have a look at the remains of Spanish kings and queens in this part of the Escorial. Similarly the Pantheon of Princes was created in 1888. The princes of the royal family are buried in this part of Escorial. This part has tombs made from marble mostly.
